remember ramen noodles?

sorry about this sucky photo but i just wanted to let you guys know that i tried the new lower-fat and lower-sodium ramen noodles today... besides being cheap (3 for $1), it wasn't bad for a quick lunch but i would definitely add some frozen veggies and/or protein next time... i used the microwave and after 3-minutes, i had a hot lunch and if you're WW counting points - it would be around 4... i also picked-up the beef and shrimp flavors so i'll let you know how they taste... click on the link above for more info... :o)

i made some enchiladas last night (been craving mexican) but they were a disaster! i used corn tortillas, since they're great for oven-baked quesadillas (and only 1 point for 2), but for this recipe - they were crap! they cracked as soon as i put them in the casserole dish! ugh! i made them anyway but can anyone recommend a good but low-point brand of flour tortillas? the lowcarb versions seem mushy to me but maybe i should try the whole wheat or multi-grain kind... any suggestions? :op

happy thursday...

p.s. my scale was down 2-pounds this morning so whoo hooo carrots! :o)

yummy in my tummy

i haven't bought frozen meals in a long time but giant had heathly choice on sale this week (5 for $10) so i picked-up two cafe steamers and thought i would give them a try... i had the beef merlot today for lunch and it was fantabulous - there were huge pieces of beef, potatoes, green beans, and carrots plus a lovely merlot sauce that you poured ontop... and maybe i'm just a bit slow but i noticed they are now including WW points on the packaging (or perhaps i just never paid attention!) and this was only 4 points... i will be having the chicken with roasted red pepper alfredo sauce tomorrow and i can't wait - they're definitely worth a try... :o)

i jogged for about 40-minutes today, it felt good to be back on the treadmill... i've been making a point to get outside at least one day a week and since i had done that on monday, i opted for some tv-time and the trusted treadmill... i'm no soap opera fan but they sure do make the time go by much faster - i wish holden and lily would just stay together and be happy! ;o)

i watched most of american idol last night even though i'm not a fan - i just wanted to see who would perform and who would win... i was quite surprised to see george michael - i remember going to see him in HS and what a show that was... i think concert tshirts were still under $20 back then... i also watched last week's LOST online (in HD to boot!) and it's getting pretty good but that's expected since next week is the season finale... :o(

tonight i plan on taking a bath, reading some of my fitness magazine, and then watching a show i taped-off PBS last night about depression... it's always good to learn more about something that has affected my family (my dad and myself) so i'm hoping it's good...

oh and one more thing - i forgot to mention that i bought myself a new monitor for home... check out my new 22" wide-screen LCD - talk about awesome! it's so nice to have a bigger screen, like i have at work, because i can see more of what i'm doing (and the colors are much brighter too)... eric had to be a copycat and buy one for himself since they were a great deal online ($245 w/shipping at compusa.com)... so thank-you federal government! :o)

happy thursday...

weigh-in

i'm happy to be back on the never-ending, weightloss rollercoaster - my scale showed a 1.8 pound loss this week, so i will take it... i'm still not down to my pre-holiday weight but that's okay, i have chosen to be more imperfect than perfect in the last few weeks and i feel that is more realistic for the long haul... it's important to stick with something that you KNOW you can keep doing, regardless of the situation you're in, and i think what i've been doing, is good for me right now... :o)

i had to do some errands last night, one of them included going to target since i prefer their greeting cards over the ones a the grocery store... i quickly glanced thru their clearance racks and found THE cutest black, mock-wrap dress, in a size medium... "do i dare to even TRY it on?" i thought... what the hell, right? i'm glad i did because it fit and it looked good and best of all - it was marked down to $12... talk about a score! i'm wearing it today and feel oh-so-very sexy, even got a few compliments already... it's going to be a great day! ;o)

so after my tar-jay spending spree, i had to pick-up some things at the grocery store and grabbed a few yoplait light yogurts - have you tried these? OMG they are so good! i had the apple turnover last night for dinner and it was incredibly creamy, apply, and just plain tasty... to see what other flavors they have, check out their website, i can't wait to try the boston cream pie! :o)

work should be quiet today so i'm looking forward to catching-up with everyone... i'm also meeting another girlfriend after work for dinner, we haven't decided where we're going so i may need to do some research and find a healthy option... i tend to be a bit more lenient on weigh-in day, since it's the beginning of a new week, but i don't want to blow all my flexies on one dinner... ;o)

happy hump day...

weigh-in

good lord... i know i went overboard on sunday but doubt that would cause a 2.6 pound gain this week - perhaps my carefree weekends are catching up with me after all... or perhaps it's because after friday, i stop keeping track and using my eTools... it could be a lot of things but i certainly don't want that number to keep going up, so my goal for this week is to be more responsible... and even though i still haven't decided on when to stop weightloss-wise - i DO know that IF i want to lose a few more pounds, i have to be accountable for what i eat... just writing that seems daunting but it's true - if you set a goal, you're never going to get there unless you work at it every, single day... anyway, just some random thoughts for this wednesday... :o)

a few days ago, i was contacted (as i'm sure most of you were as well) by a new weightloss community website called wegohealth... i haven't dove into the site very deep but there seems to be a lot of good resources, message boards, and links to other blogs... check it out if you have some time... :o)

i know it's been a while since i've reviewed any new items but i did notice that hungry girl has a whole list of new products worth checking out - one item being the new flatbread melt from lean cuisine... weight watchers has also come out with a new line called fruit inspirations that contains real fruit... and last but not least, i found a new fiber one bar last night while shopping at target - oats & caramel - can't wait to try it later (afternoon snack)... :o)

happy hump day...

update: (1) just had my afternoon snack and have to say, the new fiber-one bar is good but i think i prefer the peanut butter flavor... (2) ran 4 miles today on the treadmill in under 43 minutes - i feel great! :o)

product review

i'm sure i've mentioned these before but if not, i found these awesome wraps at the grocery store (weis) near my mom's house... for a store that's in the middle of nowhere, they sure have some great items... the wraps are a pretty decent size and for only 2 points - they made a great base for pizza... just slather on some sauce, some veggies, and some cheese and you're good to go (i used my pizza stone which made the wrap a bit crispy)... to find a store near you, check out their website... :o)

i didn't make it to the gym today because i was slammed with conference emails and making changes to the website... i was also working on those damn videos and think i FINALLY have them working (after learning i had to buy another program in order to export properly from final cut pro, ugh!)... anyway, once i get those finalized tomorrow - the rest of my week should be pretty easy and of course, i'm not in friday so it's a short week for me... :o)

trying not to think about it but i hope my weigh-in is decent tomorrow... we'll see...

happy tuesday...

p.s. eric surprised me with red roses today - sort of an early, 3-year anniversary present... thank-you darlin, they are be-au-tiful... :o)
